Privacy policy

Melissa Tate, trading as Melissa Tate GTM, is a sole trader based in Oxford, England. This policy explains what personal information is collected through this website, why it is collected, and the choices you have. Contact: melissa@melissatategtm.com.

What is collected

If you book a conversation or send a note, the information collected is what you provide: your name, work email, firm, the priority you select, and anything you write. If you book through Calendly, that also includes the time you choose and any answers Calendly asks for.

The site and its tools also receive technical information that a browser sends as standard, such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited. This is used to run and protect the site.

Why it is collected

The information is used to:

  • reply to your note or hold the conversation you booked
  • decide whether there is a fit and, if so, propose an engagement
  • deliver work you have agreed
  • keep a record of the enquiry and the work
  • run, secure and improve the site

The lawful bases are legitimate interests in responding to a business enquiry and running the practice, steps toward a contract where you ask for a conversation or a proposal, and contract where work is agreed. Marketing email is only sent with your consent, or to an existing client about similar services, and you can opt out at any time.

Who it is shared with

Information is shared only with the services used to run the practice: HubSpot for the note form and contact records, Calendly for booking, Google Workspace for email, and the host of this website. These providers process information on instruction, or as independent controllers for their own service. Information is not sold.

Some of these providers store information outside the UK, including in the United States and the EU. Where that happens, it is protected by the provider’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long it is kept

Enquiry and booking records are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then for up to two years. Client records are kept for the engagement and for up to six years afterwards, for accounting and in case of a dispute. You can ask for an enquiry record to be deleted sooner if there is no duty to keep it.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that are needed to make the pages work. Calendly, HubSpot and any analytics added later may set further cookies to remember a booking, measure use, or understand how the site is found. You can refuse non-essential cookies in the banner, or control cookies in your browser. Refusing them does not stop you booking or sending a note.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask for a correction, ask for deletion, ask for use to be limited, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

To use any of these rights, email melissa@melissatategtm.com.
